Keep scrolling for 8 Sunday Reset steps I do each week to set me up for success!
We all know how important it is to kickstart our week with intention and focus, right? For me, Sundays are all about setting myself up for success — mentally, physically, and spiritually. I call this my “Sunday Reset,” and it’s become such a game-changer in my life. Let’s talk about habit stacking on Sundays, which is basically layering small habits together to help you feel grounded and prepared for the week.
Here are some of my go-to practices to keep my mind, body, and soul aligned as I enter into a new week:
1. Map Out Weekly Schedules & To-Do Lists
I like to start my Sunday by sitting down with my planner or digital calendar and mapping out my week. This is where I’ll jot down important appointments, deadlines, and to-dos. Getting it all down on paper gives me a sense of peace and control over my time. It’s a small habit that makes the biggest difference when the Monday hustle hits!
2. Meal Plan & Grocery Shop
This is key to keeping our family’s meals on track during the week. Planning out what we’re eating ahead of time not only saves time but also helps us stay on track with our health goals. Once the plan is done, I’ll head to the grocery store (or place a pickup order, because, #momlife) to get everything we need.
3. Long Bath & Magnesium Relaxation
Sunday evenings are sacred for a little self-care. After a busy week, I love taking a long, hot bath with some magnesium salts. It’s not only soothing for sore muscles but also helps me relax and unwind. It’s my way of hitting the reset button for both body and mind.
4. Spend Time in the Word & in Prayer
Spending time with God is the ultimate way to reset. Whether it’s reading a devotional, diving into Scripture, or just spending quiet time in prayer, this is my way of grounding myself spiritually before the week begins. It helps me refocus on what truly matters, especially in the midst of a busy schedule.
5. Plan a Date Night or Girls Night
Yes, planning fun is just as important as planning work! I love to look ahead and set aside time for connection. Whether it’s a date night with my husband or a girls’ night, having these moments on the calendar gives me something to look forward to during the week.
6. Schedule in Workouts & Movement
Movement is life, y’all! I make sure to schedule in my workouts for the week. Whether it’s a morning walk, a barre class, a burn bootcamp class, or even just time to stretch, penciling this in helps keep me consistent. It’s amazing how much better I feel when I prioritize movement!
7. Take Time to Stretch & Practice Breathwork
Speaking of movement, I always make sure to spend a few minutes stretching and practicing some breathwork on Sunday evenings. It’s a small but mighty habit that helps release any tension from the week and prepares my body for the one ahead.
8. Go to Bed Early to Prepare for the Week
This is a non-negotiable for me. Going to bed early on Sunday helps me wake up refreshed and ready to tackle Monday with energy. I make sure the house is tidy, clothes are laid out for the kids, and I’m in bed at a reasonable hour so I can start the week feeling my best.
Sundays have become a beautiful rhythm of resetting, recharging, and refocusing for the week ahead. Habit stacking these small actions makes the bigger tasks of the week feel so much more manageable, and by taking time to care for myself physically, mentally, and spiritually, I’m better equipped to pour into my family and work.
