I am excited to welcome Dorothy from The Healthy Recycler to share a healthy breakfast smoothie with you guys today. It looks delish and I hope you’ll give it a try!
I love cooking for my family. But I’m not a morning person so breakfast is my least favorite meal of the day. It’s hard to make breakfast for everyone when I’m walking around in a stupor and my brain doesn’t turn on until around 9:30 in the morning.
That stupor hinders my creative meal making skills. Sometimes I pour cereal, other times I pop some pancakes or waffles in the toaster, and occasionally I make eggs. It’s all so boring and (mostly) low in nutritional value and protein. It’s awful, I know!
But when the weather warms up, I start making smoothies! One of my favorites is what my kids like to call The Breakfast Smoothie. I make this for them on warm mornings. It’s especially easy to make when we’re in a rush. It’s super-refreshing and keeps everyone full for a long time.
This recipe makes 4 – 11 ounce servings.
2 large scoops of frozen yogurt (we like vanilla)
15 slices of frozen banana
2-3 cups of frozen strawberries
Fill blender to 5 cup line with orange juice
4 Scoops of Warrior Blend organic, vegan protein powder (without flavor)
Blend
The great thing about this recipe is you can substitute other fruits out and other juices. I’ve run out of banana and used pineapple and I’ve used cranberry-raspberry juice instead of orange juice.
What’s your favorite quick breakfast?
