My friend Lindsey from Life Lutzurious and I have teamed up to show you how to style camo today! We had a blast getting coffee, getting caught up and shooting these looks. Lindsey is one of my blogging friends that I text or talk to weekly, if not daily, about all things blogging, baby and Birmingham. How about those 3 B’s?! Ha!
Lindsey and I actually had our babies about 3 weeks apart. Asher and Leyton have enjoyed a few coffee shop play dates while we hang out and it’s been really fun to see them change together over time. Lindsey also did a couple of Whole30 Facebook lives with me so you may recognize her from those videos as well. If you haven’t already subscribed to my new Youtube channel, make sure you check it out HERE!
Camo has been pretty popular for a while now, but for some reason I haven’t had any yet in my wardrobe. I think it was because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it at popular retailers if I didn’t know how to style camo easily AND in a way that I knew would last longer than a season. But then, I saw these pants on Instagram for only $45 at Bergoch Boutique and I knew I had to have them.
As I’ve started to wear these camo pants, I’ve found that they are not as intimidating to style as I originally thought they may be, plus they give me a little edge to my normal everyday mom-iform. For this look, I paired them with a basic Bella Dahl top (which you can commonly find at Nordstrom Rack for a steal!), some nude pumps that I got on clearance at J Crew Factory, a neutral structured bag (from Danielle at India Hicks) and a simple boutique necklace.
How to Style Camo:
- Don’t pattern mix: I’ve found pairing simple neutrals or even a pop of bright work best with camo but if you’re brave enough to pattern mix with a much smaller piece to go with it like a scarf, go for it! However, sometimes it can look a bit busy if you have too much going on.
- Wear accessories or jewelry:Â You’ll notice both Lindsey and I paired our camo pants with layers of a vest or a jacket and some jewelry to make our looks a little more feminine.
- Keep it simple:Â Since your camo is taking the spotlight, try to keep your other clothes and accessories relatively understated. My nude heels are simple, classic, elegant and make it again-pretty! Let your camo shine and enjoy your tough girl edge.

What a great blog post! You two are such beautiful mom’s! I babysat for a mom who had 5 kids the other day! She fed all of her kids, packed up a whole hotel room, got dressed and looked like she could walk the red carpet and left to meet her husband at a conference. She made it all look like a walk in the park. I was left in awe. While I am not a Mom I think all that you women do with such ease and grace is absolutely incredible! You deserve to rock that camo! Show that grit and strength that all mom’s possess!

Janelle, this is the kindest most sincere comment. It truly makes my day. It’s NOT easy but somehow we each get through with a lot of grace and prayer. 😉 LOVE YOU and love that you already rock and OWN that camo, gorgeous friend! xoxo
Even being a style blogger, I have been scared to wear camo. I do not own not one piece, but I like it on other people! Those pants you are wearing are the cutest and has inspired me to add a little camo to my wardrobe this season!

Mary, I hear you! I felt the same way. I even wore these pants again last night…Can’t stop, won’t stop. 😉 Thanks for your thoughtful comment as always. I appreciate you!
YES to camo! I’ve been wearing camo for Spring and I think it’s such a fun print! I love how you styled those jeans and I have a camo dress super similar to this one!

I looked and these come in S, M, L. How’s the sizing? I’m tempted to size up because I don’t want them to be a second skin.

Hi Corbett! Thanks for your comment. I usually wear a size 4 or small so I ordered a small. It fits well but if you don’t want it too tight, I’d recommend sizing up. Hope this helps!
Love the camo looks! That dress is so fun. Thanks for linking up for The Weekly Style Edit. Hope to have you back again this week. xo ~ Megan
