How was your July 4th weekend, friends? Did you get to wear an adorable red, white and blue outfit? Our holiday weekend was absolutely wonderful & we were so glad to get to celebrate America with lots of family and friends! We were thrilled to have my sister-in-law, Janelle, come in town to visit us from Tampa. We packed in a ton of fun Birmingham things but still didn’t quite have enough time to squeeze everything on Janelle’s Bham bucket list in. Since we all went to Samford together for college, she has a list of items she wants to see and do each time she visits us.
If you follow me on Snapchat (@mylifewellloved), you probably saw most of what we did already. On Friday night, we went to the Ross Bridge farmer’s market and visited Vecchia Pizzeria in Moss Rock Preserve. If you haven’t been yet, it’s a must do! They have the best lasagna, amazing fresh bruschetta, homemade tiramisu, wines on tap from Italy and a ton of beers on draft. Their outside seating is impeccable…and is a huge porch with string lights and a wonderful ambiance.
Saturday morning I taught Janelle and one of her friends who moved here a Pure Barre class before we met another friend to do some shopping and eat at Taziki’s. We did lots of pool time over the whole weekend which is always a delight…especially with little Leyton who thinks it’s a giant fun bath tub. We met up with several friends Saturday night at Taco Mama and did their unbeatable watermelon margaritas and I tried the vegetarian bowl. Afterwards, we went to Good People Brewing and watched the fireworks over the Barons stadium while playing corn hole. Needless to say, it was a wonderful weekend and if you ever visit Birmingham, I’d highly recommend you try out these places.
We also hosted my family on Sunday to celebrate the 4th and grilled out and ate ice cream cake to celebrate Eric and Janelle’s birthdays (they are triplets!). It was such a good time. You can see me above on our back porch where we adore entertaining our friends and family. Â Finally, we met up with some friends in Homewood and watched the fireworks. We were amazed that our little buddy didn’t seem to mind the noise or the late night at all. We were thrilled with how well he did!
Tell me about your 4th! What did you do? What red white and blue outfit did you wear? And also, what do you have on your Birmingham Bucket List when you have out-of-towners come visit you if you live in the city?
