These sweet and juicy fruits have a way of making my mouth feel happy. There’s nothing quite like biting into these summery fruits and feeling their juice run down your chin. When brainstorming how to whip them up into a smoothie in a new way, I came upon Lifeway Kefir‘s Strawberry Cultured Milk Smoothie. Lifeway Kefir’s probiotic smoothie contains 12 live and active Probiotic cultures that support the immune system and balance digestive health. It is naturally gluten-free, 99% lactose free and contains no artificial sweeteners, and is rich in calcium. When I perused the aisles of Winn Dixie, I found several flavors of these smoothies like Pomegranate, Raspberry, Strawberry-Banana, Blueberry, and plain. You can find it near the dairy section. I picked up the plain and the strawberry to experiment with first. I started using probiotics years ago to prepare my stomach for a mission trip to Haiti. We never ended up going due to a cholera outbreak and other things, but I have always heard positive things about probiotics since then. A few ways I’ve found to utilize these smoothies in include over my cereal, with granola, and obviously blended in smoothies. I whipped up this smoothie as a pre-workout snack to power me through my 55 minutes of me time at Pure Barre. To make this smoothie yourself, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- ½ cup Lifeway Kefir Cultured Milk Strawberry Smoothie
- Ice Cubes
- 1 Peach, sliced
- 1 t ground flax seed
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
